Course Syllabus CG462; Church Growth Spring 2010 Professor Ray Wheeler, DMin E-mail: ray@raywheeler.com Phone: (909) 560-0583 Office: Call for appointment COURSE DESCRIPTION: An introduction to the theology, history and theories of church growth including its application to evangelism, mission, education, and administrative leadership. COURSE OBJECTIVES: 1. Theological. Students will shape their view on how God reveals God’s self and reaches to reconcile the community through the Church. 2. Praxeological. Students shall be required to define the outcomes of evangelism, discipleship and perfecting and how to measure them. 3. Sociological. Identify the complexities in communicating the gospel in the changing social environment of globalized urban environments. Use qualitative research skills and then articulate the unique social environment in which they work and to contextualize the gospel through field research. CLASS TIME: Mondays 7:40 – 10:10 PM.
