Doctrinal Statement
Bethesda Christian University agrees with the doctrinal statements below.
1. The Bible is the absolute Word of God and is trustworthy for all people.
2. God is one Being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons : the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
3. God's Son, who is God, was with God before creation, was incarnated as a human being named Immanuel and lived among humans.
4. A human named Adam was created in the image of God. However, Adam sinned. As a result, all humankind must experience spiritual death (we can no longer be with or communicate with God) as well as physical death.
5. The glorious Jesus died on the cross for all human beings. However, he was raised from the dead, met His disciples, and was taken up into Heaven where He sits next to God. Whoever believes in Him will receive eternal life from God.
6. A human can be justified not by his actions or behavior, but by faith in Jesus.
7. Jesus baptizes all believers with the Holy Spirit.
8. Eternal life is evidence of believers who believe in Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension. Eternal life is gained by faith with the power of the Holy Spirit and by obeying God's Word.
9. Jesus is a healer to His people and set His people free from all disease with His atonement for our sins, and His Spirit gives complete freedom to all who believe in God.
10. Jesus' second coming is the hope and grace of all believers.
