Bethesda Christian University was founded to train future leaders who will promote world peace and world missions by building churches and Bible institutions around the world.



1976.09 Founded Full Gospel Central Bible College in Pentecost Central Church. (Now Yoido Pentecostal Church)Founder and director: Yonggi ChoFirst president: Dr. John Stetz
1978.06 Inaugurated the second president, Ki Hong Kim
1982.06 Inaugurated the third president, Chang Gil Lee
1982.12 Renamed Full Gospel Theological Seminary
1983.10 Approved by the California State government as a regular university
1984.03 Renamed Bethesda School of Theology
1986.06 Added Master of Divinity degree
1990.07 Renamed Bethesda Christian University
1991.07 Approved to grant I-20 forms to international students
1991.08 Added music department
1992.09 Added teaching certificate program
